Can't receive emails. Receiving error on smtp.comcast.net

Can't receive emails. Receiving error on smtp.comcast.net

I'm trying to configure my comcast email on my Mac. I can receive email to my new address, but can't send. I followed instructions for settings; the server is smtp.comcast.net, port 587. How can I fix this?

Post the settings you are using for both incoming and outgoing servers.  Are you using POP3 or IMAP?
