Can Receive but not send emails on my laptop

Can Receive but not send emails on my laptop

We use the full version of XfinityConnect, Outlook, and Windows 10. I now get an error message saying that there is no connection to the server when I try to send out an outgoing email on my laptop, though I have no problem receiving emails. This problem developed out of the blue after years of no problem. I can send and receive emails find from the Comcast website itself or my phone. Please let me know what can be done to fix this problem. Thanks.

Please post the complete, exact error message.

Re: Can Receive but not send emails on my laptop

The error message relates to not being able to reach the SMTP server to send email. I apologize, I no longer have the exact wording because a tech-friendly friend made my Comcast email be forwarded to a gmail account as a temporary fix when he was unable to solve the problem. Thanks

Can you verify your settings?  Is there an error message you can share?
