Can I get a sound when new mail comes in?
If you are still on the old email format, from the Inbox page go to Preferences>>>>>New Email Alert. The trick is that you have to have the right software on your computer. It doesn't seem to have been an overly popular feature, though. The new email format does not have it. You would need to enable the account in a desktop email client like Outlook, Mac Mail or some other that may have that capability.
