Authentication failed

On Tuesday, July 18, 2017, I tried to log into my Comcast email.  I got the message "authentication failed."  I reset my password, and that seemed to fix the problem.

Until the next morning, that is.  I have had to reset my Comcast password four times in three days, just to be able to read my email.  Am I the only person who has had this problem lately?

Re: Authentication failed

How are you accessing the email?  On a computer using only a browser and the webmail UI, or on a tablet or what?

Re: Authentication failed

I am using a browser on my computer, primarily.  However, I got the same result when I tried logging in through the browser on my iPad.

Re: Authentication failed

When you changed the password, did you also change it on the iPad?  And if so, did you change it for both the incoming and outgoing servers?  In iOS you have to change it in both places.

Re: Authentication failed

I logged in manually on my iPad.  I am using Google Chrome on my iMac, and I'm not sure how to check the password on my ingoing and outgoing servers.

Logging into my Comcast email is the only place I'm having a problem.

Re: Authentication failed

I have updated the settings in my mail program, and seem to have found a way to fix the problem in the browser version (which is the one I primarily use).

I now need to figure out how to fix the problem on my iPad.

Re: Authentication failed

Probably the easiest way-----------delete the account from the iPad, then recreate it again from scratch.  Let iOS auto-configure it for you.

Re: Authentication failed

Thing is, I'm trying to access it through the browser on my iPad.
