Advertising on Email Page

I am aware that this topic has been brought up in many previously closed posts.  However, in the interest of keeping at the top of the stack I'm starting a new thread.

My grievance is that I pay for the internet service (including email) and yet I am bombarded by advertisements on the right side of the email client.  The ads are sometime risque' and/or offensive.  When I am at work I don't keep my email open on the browser because the images are often not appropriate.

WHY DO I NEED ADVERTISMENTS ON A WEB PAGE FOR A SERVICE THAT I AM ALREADY PAYING TO USE?!?!?!?!

Disclaimer: I know that these are user hosted forums but in case someone/anyone at Comcast/Xfinity is reading them, please, please, please offer us a way to opt-out of this annoyance (account settings or something).

Re: Advertising on Email Page

All ISPs use advertising for the revenue stream. You do have some control over what ads you see. Underneath any ad on the right side of the screen, click on "Ad Info". Or just go to this link-------------

http://xfinity.comcast.net/adinformation/

That will explain how you can opt out of some, but not all advertising. Or-----use a browser add-on called "AdBlock Plus". That will eliminate all of them. An even better option would be to use an email client like Mozilla Thunderbird or Windows Live Mail. That way you don't even have to look at the Comcast UI, and no ads.
