Add security exception to receive email?

At 6:50 yesterday morning, I stopped receiving emails and the following popup appeared.

"Add security exception.  Your are about to override how Thunderbird identifies this site.  Legitimate banks, stores, and other public sites will not ask you to do this.  Location: mail.comcast.net:110"

It doesn't matter whether I confirm the security exception or not, the mail is not arriving, but it is visible arriving onto Comcast's server.  I'm using Thunderbird 38.1.0 under Windows 7.7601.

I've tried restarting the program and rebooting, but nothing has worked so far.

Any suggestions?
