Hi- we are unable to set up our new phone's voicemail. Automatic recording says mailbox number is not inservice.  

2nd question- does using this IP phone take up minutes on my Mom's verizon cell phone plan?

idahowarriorgir, here are some steps to setting up voicemail: 

 

  1. 1.The setup call needs to be made from your home phone.
  2. Dial *99 or enter the home phone number.
  3. Follow the recorded prompts to create a password and record a personalized greeting.

 

When you refer to an IP phone are you referring to a service like Google Voice? If so, that would be counted as cellular data, unless the VoIP app is being used on WiFi.
