New modem lost phone service

New modem lost phone service

Yesterday I changed out my old modem for the new and improved one as offered by Xfinity. I haven't been able to get a dial tone on my phone since. (It worked fine before the new modem.) There is no back-light on the modem where it says, "Tel 1". Everything else works fine. Does anyone have an idea?

Call into Comcast and have the CSR enable the EMTA side of the modem/gateway.  It's a 2 part process and if only Internet was activated, the EMTA side for Phone service might still need to be activated.
