Link Cordless Phones (CAT-iq 2.0)

Hello Everybody,

I have a TG1682G Wirless Gateway # 3 and I want to know how to pare a CAT-iq 2.0 phone to the gateway. I can't seem to find any directions online for Xfinity.

Also, I assume this will elminate my cordless base with one of these. Thank you.

Tek, Sorry to hear that our modems no longer support DECT. Please post again if you need anything else.

It was my understanding that only DECT offered a gateway which would work for these ( DPC3941T ) units ....

I will escalate this to Comcast OE for an official response.

Re: Link Cordless Phones (CAT-iq 2.0)

Tek -- You can find a user guide for that Gateway here: https://customer.xfinity.com/help-and-support/internet/broadband-gateways-userguides

Per that user guide for pairing handsets: DECT button with indicator light. Pressing the button pages all the registered handsets. Pressing again cancels paging. Pressing and holding the button for 15 seconds places the unit in registration mode for handset registration.

Re: Link Cordless Phones (CAT-iq 2.0)

I read the posts in this thread and my TG1682G gateway only has a WPS button on top, not a DECT button. Do I need to trade it for one that does have that button to link my CAT-iq 2.0 phone?

Re: Link Cordless Phones (CAT-iq 2.0)

Hello ComcastChe,

I would love to send you a private message but I can't seem to be able to. When I hover over your name a little sceen pops up with your name and all your awards and a link to sending you a message. When I click the link I get to my message screen with no messages and no button to send a message. Perhaps I am so new I don't have that functionality yet? See the attached screen shot. I've tried with both Opera v.49 and IE v.11.
