What is the proper way  set up to be able to fax using just one telephone line. I only fax 10-15 times a year!

If your printer is in the same room as your gateway, disconnect the phone line hooked up to the gateway and replace it with a phone line going to your printer. When you're done put it back the way it was.

I have triple play. I have the phone wire going to printer and then a wire from printer to modem/router.

What do I need to do differently?

What is the make and model of your all-in-one device?

Are those wires going into the proper ports of your printer ( it matters)? Double check with your printer manual if you aren't sure. Is the phone line coming out of the Tel 1 port of the modem? Also, check the settings on your fax uses tone not pulse dial tone.
