voicemail intercepting faxes

Is there a way to temporarily disable my voicemail or change my settings so that my home fax can answer first?

Does this information help?

Change the number of rings before calls are forwarded to voice mail

Managing Ring Count online:

If you have BOTH XFINITY Voice and XFINITY Internet service:

  1. Access XFINITY Connect from www.xfinity.com
  2. Select the Emailicon
  3. Enter your primary Comcast ID and password
  4. Go to the Preferences tab, then the Call Manager
  5. From Send call to voice mail afterfield, select the number of rings you want before the call goes to voice mail
  6. Click Save

If you only have XFINITY Voice:

  1. Open a Web browser and go to www.xfinity.com
  2. Select the Voiceicon
  3. Log into the XFINITY Voice using your XFINITY Voice telephone number and current voice mail passcode
  4. Click on Preferences then click Voice Mail
  5. Select how many times you want your telephone to ring before the call is answered by voice mail
  6. Click Save

You can also contact us to change the number of rings before your calls are forwarded to voice mail. You can chat to request the change. Most of the time, the change is immediate, however, in a few cases, it may take up to 24 hours for the change to process.

Voice mail can't be temporarily disabled.

You need to set the fax to answer in less rings than the voice mail, so you might want to go into your preferences and crank up the number of rings before the voice mail answers.  Nine is max.

You can do that in Xfinity Connect / preferences / call manager
