"new voicemail" keeps popping up on caller ID

"new voicemail" keeps popping up on caller ID

We did not choose to subscribe to voicemail but noticed "new voicemail" message on our caller ID. Called Comcast tech support and we were told that our voicemail would be disabled within 4 to 8 hours. A week later and we are still getting this message on caller ID. We dont have a clue as to who would be leaving voicemails. Do not want it; hoping we are not paying extra fees for it. The constant appearance of this unneccesary message prevents "missed call" messages from showing up. HELP!!!!!
