How do I block Private and Unknown numbers?

On the Xfinity Connect web site, go to preferences / voice preferences / call blocking.  You can enable "block anonymous calls" from there.

Here's what works well:

 

Anonymous Call Rejection

Pick up your phone and press *77. This activates anonymous call rejection. (*87 will shut it off if you change your mind.)

 

Call Screening

Another great option is to dial *60 to block the last number that called you. (Just follow the prompts once you dial *60.) You can block up to 10 numbers.

 

Here's the problem:

 

Schmarmy telemarketers have figured out how to get around anonymous call blocking by appearing on caller ID as "Unavailable - Unknown Number". There doesn't appear to be a way to prevent their calls from coming through. Don't answer the phone.
