I cannot get all my phones to work with the new Xfinity wireless modem.  Any phone plugged into my existing walljacks do not work.  They all worked with the old modem.  I do not understand why and calling Comcast is unbearable.

Help!

I have a new modem from Comcast.  With my old modem all my phones worked, the cordless as well as the corded after plugging one phone into the modem and the rest into wall jacks.   Now I can only use my cordless phones.  I cannot get an answer from Comcast.  What can I do?

Did you activate the new modem when you installed it?  It must be activated in order to work.

Once activated, make sure that you plug a phone cord from the modem's tel1 jack into an unused wallplate in order to "backfeed" the rest of your phone wallplates in your residence...   By plugging a phone directly into the TEL jack, you will have no service to the rest of your wallplates...

Call into COmcast and register a trouble ticket for your affected services... if calling in does not appeal to you, you can try online chat here:  https://www.comcastsupport.com/ChatEntry/Protected.aspx
