phone not working

phone not working

I recently moved and had my service transferred. I had to change my landline number because I am in a different area and was told it was for 911emergencys. For 2 days my the phone dialed out no problems but it showed valler I'd as the old number. Cs told me this was normal. Today the hone has no dial tone. The old number says disconnected and the new number goes straight to VM. I checked the modem and all the lights were on solid I tried a modem reset and a power down cycle. No change. I also tried plugging the phone straight to the modem and nothing. Why wold it work before and not now. Help please

The Comcast Cares Team has been notified and will contact the local group to get it fixed.

Re: phone not working

The router is not connecting to Comcast correctly for the phone service. You can tell this, because the inbound calls are not locating the endpoint (router). This function is handled in the connection from you, outbound to comcast. It sounds like they are having some connection issues with the phone side of things.
