sometimes at the bottom of my tv screen in a highlighted blue area there will be a picture of a cell phone with a message that there's a phone call then list a phone number and a city and state.  i would like to know why this is showing up because our phone is not ringing.

Apologies for the issue and the experience that you described above.  I have asked a colleague to review your account and reach out to you so that we can get any underlying issues identified and resolved.

 

In the meantime, you are able to turn that notification off for now:  Use the silver Comcast remote control, push the Menu button twice, then select Interactive TV from the on-screen menu. Select Notifications, then verify that Caller ID is turned Off.

Hi usually happens because the STB is still connected somehow to another account, so the previous customer gets a call, while you get the banner pop from it on your TV. Can you please send me a private message with the calling number and time that it happened, the next time it occurs for further troubleshooting?

You can click on my name (ComcastPhill) and click on “Private Message Me”.

At the top of each Forum page you will see a small envelope

This is the icon for Private Messages, referred to as ‘PM’s’. A Private Message is a way to communicate in private, to another User, Moderator, or Administrator out of public view in the Forums.

The gray envelope icon will have a number next to it if you have any new messages waiting.

To open a PM to read it, double click on the envelope. If you click on the white envelope a window will open with tabs for your Private Message Inbox, Sent Messages, Friends, Ignored Users, and Compose new Message. You can also access this area by clicking on the Username in a Thread or post. By default, Private Messages are enabled. You can disable this feature in My Settings>Preferences> Private Messenger.
