internet cuts out when using phone

Why does my internet service cut out when I'm using the phone? We have phone/tv/internet bundle. Thanks

Most of the time is is interference from the Wi-Fi and the cordless phones in the home as they use the same frequencies.

 

Start first by changing the channel on the cordless phone base.  If you can't, then the next step would be change the channel on the wireless router.  If it's your own router, you should have the logon information how to get into the configuration page, and then browse to the wireless tab.  If the channel is set on automatic or channel 6, change it to channel 11 and see if that helps.

 

Keeping the router and the cordless phone base away from each other will also help the interference issue.

 

If you can't get into the router setup, then post back with the model router and we can get more help on how to change the channel.
