how to temporarily disable voicemail

I am unable to find the option online to disable my Xfinity voicemail. I want to turn if off, but can't find the option and when on the phone with Customer Service she wasn't able to turn it off either. Can someone please help??

Comcast does not offer a temporary on/off for VM.  It is either on or off.  And yes, the feature can be disabled.  Call back into Comcast and speak with a different CSR about DISABLING the VM feature.

Re: how to temporarily disable voicemail

How about just telling us how to disable voice mail? Do we have to go through a rep? I want to disable because, my phone will ring once and go straight to voicemail. very annoying.

I did.  You can only permanently disable VM by calling into Comcast and speaking with a CSR to disable the feature in its entirety.  There is no on/off that the end-user can select.
