cannot call one specific number

cannot call one specific number

Our friends switched cable companies last week. After they did, when we try to call, it tries to go to voice mail but is rejected. We can call any number (except theirs) wuthout problems. Comcast tech has called as well. Our friends can call us without any problem also. They were Comcast and switched to Cinergy. HELP.

solved by Comcast. Our friends number was not removed from their switch when they terminated Comcast, therefore switch assumed it was still in system. When we called, it could not find number.  Thanks James for your interest.

I meant to say Comcast tech could call them without any problem. In fact we seem to be the only people in the world who cannot call them!! Thanks

Perhaps they have inadvertently blocked your number?

Thanks for your suggestion. That was my thought but they are convinced they have done nothing wrong. How can I be politically correct and tell them to check with their service?

That's tough. If they can accept other Comcast customer calls then its probably not their new company. Does the command provided by their new company include commands to block your number and then unblock it, you could talk them into going through the process? Might clear a glitch in the system.
