When did Sub accounts get blocked from Texting?


When did Sub accounts get blocked from Texting?

I used to use the texting feature with my account (I am signed in as a sub account)

awhile back I went to sign in to the text feature and I get a message saying that I am not 

well here is what it says 


Sorry, but you are not eligible for this service.

Your account doesn't allow you to use XFINITY Text Messaging.

When did this start happening and Why?

This is ridiculously as now the only person who can use the text feature is the primary account holder?

I personally would not want my password and log in info given out to sub accounts so they can text.

What is the use of sub accounts anyway if they have to log into the primary account  to be able to use the Text feature along with the DVR features 

I noticed that awhile ago I could not modify any of the DVR settings unless logged in with the primary account holders info.
