Voicemail setup- no phone is working

Voicemail setup- no phone is working

I have just gotten Triple Play and had my land line ported to Comcast VOIP. The phone is working but I cannot set up Voicemail using *99. I have tried three different phones plugged into the modem, including two wireless phone sets (Uniden and Panasonic) and a regular landline phone and nothing works. I got and entered my Security PIN so that is done.

What do I need to do to get Voicemail set up with my PIN?

Also, and I don't know if this makes any difference, but the Comcast line was a port from my Verizon landline to Comcast and the Comcast phone number is the ported line BUT the Verixon line with the same number is still working as well. I thought when the line was ported to Comcast the Verison line would be cut off automatically- should it have been and if not, do I hvae to call Verizon and ask them to cut it off?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The Verizon Service "should" auto-disconnect once the PORTING has been completed....  it may not be completed yet, so do not call Verizon and have them disconnect service until AFTER the porting is done.... otherwise you may LOSE your number....

Additionally, it can take from 24 to 72 hours for all "backend" services to synch up and fully come online for new service....
