Voicemail indicator won't clear after 2.5 weeks of no indicator

For the past 2 1/2 weeks I have been trying to get Comcast to fix my voicemail. The indicator light and studdertone were not working. Yesterday I came home and the indicators were on again. Now my problem is that I can't clear them. I have reset the modem, left messages and deleted them, then called Comcast this morning. The operators suggestion was for her to leave yet another vm and I could delete it. She called me on my cell then the call was lost and she never called me back.

Is there anyway to actually fix this mess?

It's very annoying and I'm at the end of my rope with "customer service". It's particularly bothersome when the recorded voice tells me that I'm an Xfinity Insider and one of their most valued customers. How do they treat the non-insiders??
