Voice mail notification

What type of notification does Comcast use to signal a message waiting? I know that it uses stuttered dial tone, but does it also use FSK? 

 

I am having trouble finding a hardwired wall/desk  phone that the VMWI will work.  Any recommendations?  I am not interested in replacing our existing portable phones.

Comcast uses FSK for VMWI.

Thank you for a timely reply.  I spent hours on the phone trying to get a answer to that question.  A suggestion would be for Comcast put it on their webpage.

 

From doing a search on this forum, it appears that some, if not all Uniden phones have a problem with Comcast's FSK.  Can anyone suggest a hardwired wall phone that the VMWI works with Comcast.

I have both AT&T and Walker phones that the voice mail indicator works 100% of the time.

Can you give me the model numbers? 

 

 

I purchased a FSK device designed for  Comcast's Digital voice that does not work.  After waiting a very long time in Comcasts que for technical support, I finally got to ask the question and was put put on hold for so long I gave up.

 

Due to some significant medical issues in the immediate family, I need to do something in the next day or two.  I just picked up the phone to see that I had a message left yesterday at 2:30 pm  to return a call to a doctor. Now I have to wait until Monday.

 

In the past, I haven't been able to get  the message waiting to send me an email saying I have a message.  Now this is the message I get when I type in the Comcasts Digital Voice's url. I know that I am using  the correct pin.

  

Sorry, we are unable to complete your request at this time. Please try again.    [Error DVC-111]

 

 

My patience with Comcast is running out.

This shouldn't be difficult, I have other friends that the MWI works fine on Comcast.  My phone is 5 years old and the model isn't on it, but the replacement is a AT&T 993 2 line wired phone.  Perhaps a trip to Office Depot, Office Max or Staples might get you a phone that works, and can return if it doesn't work.  It specifically says it has a voice mail indicator on it.

 

This really should be simple, so I wish you good luck.

 

As far as the error on the web page, you will need to call in to Comcast support if it continues.

Are you going to digitalvoice.comcast.net and selecting "I want to sign in with my Phone Number" then entering your tn and voicemail pin?

 

Please make sure to clear your cache (temporary internet files) and cookies and try again.  And let us know if that works.

Just a note, to Clear Cache, if you are using Internet Explorer, click Tools > Internet Options > delete and delete Cookies and Temporary Files as said above.

I deleted the cache and tempoary files with the  same result.

I see you cleared cache and still have the issue.  Did you try browsing directly to digitalvoice.comcast.net?
