Voice mail - no date & time?

Voice mail - no date & time?

I generally do not use the Comcast voice mail, preferring to use my answering machine.  About the only time calls go to voicemail is when Comcast network is down (way too often, almost once a week).  But when I check messages (after service comes back), there is NO date or time info, the "envelope" just says how long, not when.

Because I don't use it other times, I don't know if this problem is only during network outages, or if my voicemail for some reason doesn't record the date/time.

This is a real problem.  When the system has been down intermittently (typical), I don't know if someone called today, or yesterday, or when.

Does Comcast know this is a problem?  Is there a solution that I need to do, or that Comcast needs to fix?

Re: Voice mail - no date & time?

Please make sure the date/time option is enabled. See the instruction below.

How do I make the date and time the message was left automatically play?

You may turn on the Date and Time feature for your Comcast Digital Phone™ voice mail by following these steps:

Dial into voice mail to access the Main Menu (click here for voice mail access instructions).

  1. Press 4 for Personal Options.
  2. Press 2 for Administrative Options.
  3. Press 4 for Date and Time.
  4. Press 1 to turn On, or 2 to turn off.
