Added voice modem today, but mine phone still has no Dial tone after 4 hours of chatting with support teams. The lasstchat ended with the tech telling me to take my "brand new voice modem" to my local Comcast store to get it reprogrammed...REALLY? Any suggestions?
Are the DS and US led's solid?
Nothing is done over the internet, all provisioning is done over Comcast's private network on the coax.
If the agent knows whate they are doing, it should not be a problem. Confirm with the agent that the model, and mac address of the TM722G is correct in Comcast's system. If the mac address is not exact, that unit is not going anywhere.
If you don't get anywhere with the phone agent, you can email to email@example.com and they can escalate getting it working.
Along with replacing my old modem with a new voice modem, my set top box (DCT700) stop working - I still get a program menu for all my TV channels, but when I select the channel I get nothing. I have powered cycles the DCT700 STB several times. The STB does not get XOD channel 1 either - an agent told me to take the STB back to my local Comcast store or get an in home tech to come take a look...
