Voice 2go and 911

Voice 2go and 911

I'm confused about 911 calling.

During set up of Voice 2go, I see a notice with something about 911 calls.

I'm not clear about what was stated during setup

However, it seems to be installed OK.

I now have the "XFINITY Connect" app on my smartphone.

1. Can I make 911 calls from my smartphone (not using Voice 2go)?

2. Can I make 911 calls frpm my smartphone through Voice 2go (via home phone number)?

3. Can I make 911 calls from my home phone in the normal manner?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Voice 2go and 911

911 calls are subject to some limitations which you should be aware of.  Generally it has to do with the enhanced 911 system which the number will pull up your address.  Because the Voice 2go can be tied to your wireless device, the 911 calls will no be able to find your location.

Need clarity. I have a heart problem and need 911 availability . It appears that getting Voice to Go disables 911 usage. I must be missing something here. Why would anyone give up their 911 usage?

Re: Voice 2go and 911

That's why I disabled this service (Xfinity Connect & Voice 2go).

I originally set it up to try and utilize the "nomorobo" feature on home phone. But found out 911 calls from mobile are disabled.

Re: Voice 2go and 911

I thought there must be a mistake when I read you will not be able to ever call 911 with voice to go app. I can't imagine anyone ever giving up the use of 911. No matter what terms you agree to, seems Comcast could still be held liable when you die.
