VoIP and Alarm system

I installed VoIP and internet and the alarm is not able to dial out.  I am told this is the responsibility of the Comcast installer to set up??

Normally if the Comcast installer was notified you had a alarm system, then he would wire the eMTA so the RJ31X jack for the alarm panel was looped through the inside telephone wiring, so the panel can seize the line.

 

If a Comcast installer did your CDV install,  then the tech needs to come back out.  You can email the Comcast Cares Team at we_can_help@comcast.com and they will follow up with this.

 

If you did the CDV install yourself and am not familiar with how a alarm panel needs to be wired, then you would hire a local low voltage specialist to do it, your local alarm installer or hire Comcast to do it.
