Unable to receive fax transmissions now

I've been able to send and receive fax transmissions via Comcast for the past three years, using my same fax machine (Brother Intellifax 1270e), without issues.

 

I can still send transmissions without issue; however, I am no longer able to receive faxes. Having multiple folks from different locations/fax machines/phone numbers attempt to send a fax, all wiht the same result: poor line quality or line noise.

 

How can I correct this? Within the past 60 days, Comcast sent me a new battery to replace the old one in my modem (didn't know that there were any issues... everything had been working fine). Just this past week, I was contacted via Comcast TV on screen message that I needed to turn off & unplug my receiver (reset?), but I believe I was having the non-receipt of faxes issue before either of these occurred.

 

Thanks for any help... it's getting harder and harder to actually contact Comcast, much less simply get an issue resolved.
