Turn Voicemail Off

How do I disable the voicemail feature?  I told them I didn't want it because I have an answering machine yet here I wake up every day with a "VM message" on my phone!  It's annoying and I don't want to use their voicemail feature!!!

Call into Comcast at 1-800-266-2278 or 1-800-934-6489 and speak with a CSR about REMOVING the VoiceMail RATE CODE.... in effect, disabling the VM feature.
