Trouble on phone line.

Trouble on phone line.

Am haveing difficulty with telephone line.  Call come through with large amount of static and I am unable to understand person.  Can you help?  No problem with internet or cable.

To troubleshoot your CDV service, first reset your eMTA telephony modem.  There is a small hole in the panel where the cables attach, you will need a toothpick or poker to press it.

 

Second, unplug the telephone cord from the L1/L2 jack on the eMTA and plug in a known good wired phone and give it a good test.  That will help determine if it's on Comcast's side or not.

 

Most static issues are caused by the inside phone wiring in the home, loose connections, corrorsion on the jacks and splices and  damaged wiring & phone equipment.

Getting the same exact problem in Woodinville today (1/28/13).  

 

Did Comcast push some new software out last night?
