Telephone

How can I be getting a phone call to MY number from MY number with my name appearing on my caller ID?  When I *69 that number the call won't go through.  I traced the call but was told to contact law enforcement.  They aren't going to check into this because there was no message or threat made.  I am very concerned about how my number and name is being used.  Is the safest answer to change my phone number??

This can occur when a telemarketing company uses a listed dataset of phone numbers and names and programs the calling system to display the name & number as its callerid to the number they are dialing.  In other words, SPOOFING.  There's an article by the FCC on spoofing and that can be found here:http://www.fcc.gov/guides/caller-id-and-spoofing

For more information on this version of caller ID spoofing, see any of the many article links at https://www.google.com/search?q=caller+id+my+own+number, for example, https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/getting-calls-your-own-number.

Re: Telephone

I have been experiencing an annoying clicking or snapping sound on my phone.  Have complained several times over the last few months, and NO solution to the problem.  What is the solution to ending this and getting it repaired?

If you continue experincing this issue, you should request a Tech onsite to evaluate and make the repairs necessary.  When calling in, request the TECH and no remote assistance.
