Telephone stopped working when I put gateway into bridge mode

I just received a new Comcast gateway and was happy to see that I can out it into bridge mode myself. However, when I did that the telephone LED lights on the front don't turn on and the phone obviously doesn't work. Is this normal behavior?

No.... it is not.   DId you go through the Voice Activation of the gateway before you bridged it?

This is not normal behavior at all like geek46 said. A power-cycle can usually correct this, but if it did not the device might need to be re-activated. Has your issue continued?

Thanks.  I power cycled it and did a hard reset and that did not work.  I called comcast and they "re-activated it" and it worked fine after that and is now in bridge mode without a problem.  Thanks for the help!
