Telephone not working

Telephone not working

Several months ago, I added Voice to my service. I attempted to hook up a phone for the first time today, directly to my modem. There was no dial tone and neither telephone line light lit up. I reset the modem and both lights started blinking but I still had no dial tone. How do I make the telephone work?

If you hooked up a wired phone directly to the eTMA's L1/L2 jack and don't have a dial tone, first thing is to press the indented reset button on the eMTA to reset it.  You will need a toothpick or some poker to get at it.

 

Otherwise, please call Comcast support and they need to diagnosis the issue and they will get it solved.

Thank you - I did press the reset button, that is when the lights started to flash, but there is not a dial tone. So there is nothing to do besides call comcast support?

I've nofified the Comcast Cares Team and they will contact the local group.
