Specifications of Computer

Hi-

I am considering getting the Triple Play, adding Comcast Voice. On the webpage, it lists the minimum required specifications of the home computer. I have an old PC, with limited hard drive space. I do not meet the stated minimum 150 MB.

However, I have read in this forum that Comcast Voice doesn't even go through the computer. That would lead me to believe that the specs of the PC do not have anything to do with Comcast Voice. If my existing computer works OK with internet and cable, then adding voice should not be an issue.

Is that true?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Specifications of Computer

You only need a pc if you want to listen to your voice messages online.  You can also listen to the voicemail on your phone at home or dial in from another phone.

There is nothing to load onto the pc, it is all online.

It should not be an issue.

One more question.

If I want to have a local wireless connection with my Comcast high speed internet connection, what box (router?) should I buy? Is it hard to install?

I understand that I also need to buy a box (or rent one) for the Comcast voice hookup. Are the wireles router and the Comcast voice box compatible?

Thanks in advance.
