Setting up voice mail

I'm a new voice customer. My phone has an voice mail. Does this work with the Comcast voice? When I try having the phone voice mail pickup, it cuts off and says the voice mail isn't in service. I tried calling the *99 it says the mailbox number is not in service. What do I do?

If you are new, it can take from 24 to 72 hours for all of the "back-end" services to fully come online.  In the meantime, if your phone has an integrated VoiceMail feature you CAN use it... set it to answer on 3 rings.  Once your Comcast VM is activated you can continue to use your personal phone's voicemail by logging into your account and setting the number of rings HIGHER than your personal phone is set....   PLease post back if you need additional information or help!
