School automated messages will not record on VM

School automated messages will not record on VM

Our Public school system calls on occasion and with important information.  The issue is, if I'm not home to answer, the message is not left on the VM machine because their system can not communicate with Comcast.  I have talked to the main IT guy (mind you, this is a large school system in southern Indinapolis), and he says it is a known problem specific with many Comcast customers only.  Something about at the end of my recorded message, Comcast system does not prompt the school system to play or replay the recorded message.  It started right after the 1st of the year.  Anyone have any ideas on where to begin?

The only thing I can think of would be to add an answering machine to your home, set the # of rings to be LOWER than the # of rings for Comcast's VM system.... in that way you will get each and every call that you do not answer....   Best I can do!
