Recent install, inbound calls do not ring

Recent install, inbound calls do not ring

Just had Digital Voice installed at the house today.   Prior to the installer leaving, inbound and outbound calls were tested and verified.  The installer even called to check again after he left the house. 

 

Now a few hours later Outbound calls are fine and crystal clear, but inbound calls are not working (Caller gets ring only/no Voice Mail and home phone does not ring).  

 

About to call in to Comcast to check, but thought I would check/post here first.  Have not tried resetting the modem and open to any/all suggestions.

Did you port your existing phone number, or is this a new number?

 

It doesn't hurt to press the reset button on the EMTA and give it 5 minutes to see if it starts to work.

 

If you had your number ported over, looks like an issue with that.

Number was ported.  All of a sudden started working later in the day.  I have the Arris TM502G modem and it is connected on it's own (SB6120 running HSD is connected separately).  Would that make a difference?  Is there a config screen or admin screen that I can pull stats from?

Most cable modems can access any available web stats at http://192.168.100.1

 

Having the EMTA and separate cable modem would not have mattered.  It was probably a glitch in the porting process, and I am glad it all came back to normal for you.
