Re: Voice Mail probles

I had a Comcast Bundle installed 2 weeks ago but I also have an answering machine that I prefer because I screen calls prior to picking up (I HATE telemarketers, pollsters... etc). My answereing machine is set to pick up at 4 rings but sometime when my wife calls me she says it goes strait to voicemail, which i finally had to set up just to check any missed call messages. I had surgery last Monday and had missed two calls from the hospital checking details about the upcoming surgery. Luckily I had called them myself to get some updates, so the missed calls did not impact anything. How can I disable the voice so I can count on the answering machine again! I would keep it as a backup but somehow it seems to interfere with my answering machine even though it picks up after almost 6 rings. Can I do anything?

Re: Voice Mail probles

The only way to disable voice mail is to call Comcast support, they will take care of it.

Jake, just make sure you clean out your Comcast voice mail box before you cancel the service.  See my postings for the problem it caused me.

Sorry about the issues you are having. I can remove your voicemail if that's what you really want.

Sounds like you would like to keep your voicemail as a backup when you are on calls.

We will need to do some changing of your ring counts.

Your comcast voicemail needs to be at 9 our maximum number so your Comcast voicemail won't pick up. I have went into our system and made this change for you. You can modify or change your rings counts yourself under your preferences in the call manager in xfinity connect.
Usually the voicemail will pickup on the first ring if the line is busy or tied up in some fashion. You can set your ring count to 9 and keep your personal answering machine at 6.

Can you test out your line and let me know if you are still having issues.
