I've called Comcast a number of times and requested that their VM service be disabled. "Oh sure, no problem....it will be effective in about 24 hours".....NOT! My dad passed last week at age 96 and now mom is alone at 94 and needs to be able to reach us......all she gets is a recording that states that my voicemail is unable to take calls.......Huh????? I have an answering machine for a reason.....right now.....I'm hating Comcast.
