I tried to call my home number from work (my number has an extension number) and it said that my number had been blocked because it does not have caller ID. The message said that to make the phone call, I had to dial *82 in which I do not have capability to use since it is a government phone. I can reveive the phone call at work without any problem. Is there a way I can whitelist my work phone number so I can call home for emergencies?

Get a Google phone number. Follow this link for full instructions. http://www.wikihow.com/Get-a-Google-Voice-Phone-Number

Not going to work. I am stuck using a government phone with an extension. I am not allowed to use my cell phone and I am not allowed to change computer configurations or it means I would be terminated. A whitelist on my home phone seems to be the only option.

Hi roseynose!

It sounds like you have Anonymous Call Rejection turned on at home.  Unless you can get your telecom team at work to start sending Caller ID information on outbound calls, you'll have to turn Anonymous Call Rejection off with XFINITY Voice.  More info on that here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/phone/rejecting-anonymous-calls/

Although not the same as Anonymous Call Rejection, you could then use other features like Call Screening, or Nomorobo to stop unwanted calls.
