Problems Getting Comcast Phone Installed

We have had two prior appointments to get Comcast phone installed and both times we have received a call the day before the scheduled install stating that ATT did not respond to the request to port the number.  We asked Comcast if they do any followup and they said "no, they just resubmit the request".

 

We now have our 3rd install scheduled for next week--what can we do proactively in advance to be sure that this time they actually get the number ported and installed?  And by the way, I don't think they asked us for 3rd party verification this time.  Should I follow up on that as well.


I a getting frustrated with the time this has taken so far.

Sometimes AT&T will deny the port if there is an outstanding bill, but I would double check on the third party verification
