Prepping for Voice-Questions

Prepping for Voice-Questions

I'm getting upgraded to Triple Play next week...first time I've had voice.

I want the phone connected throuout the house...do I still need to plug in the voice modem into a phone jack? Right now my modem set-up is nowhere near a phone jack.

Also, is this going to screw up my home security system, or do the techs know how to set this up while keeping it intact?

thanks folks

Re: Prepping for Voice-Questions

You will more than likely need 2 modems(single charge). One for the Internet where you have it now and one for phone (Emta) that can be put in a spot in your house where it's close to cable and a phone jack to back feed the house and alarm. Or option 2 is if there's a possibility to run a phone line to the room where the modem would go
