I connected a charged cordless phone to my modem, I get sounds but I can not make or receive calls, what's my problem?   What are possible solutions?

Try connecting another phone directly to the modem...  is the other phone working?  If it is, the fault is in the new one.  If it is not, try rebooting the modem following this link:  http://customer.xfinity.com/help-and-support/internet/power-cycling-your-modem/

 

If the above still fails, call into Comcast and register a trouble ticket with the CSR for your non-working services.

I'd already done all of that, actually Comcast showed it without coming out because my modem finally lit up the telephone light. I've been able to call out awaiting to see if anyone can call in now.
