Phone not working on new Xfinity wi-fi

Got the newest Xfinity wireless gateway and have had a lot of trouble getting all my wireless devices hooked up but finally did. Now the only issue I still have is that when I plug my phone into the box it doesn't work, no out going, no incoming, no dial tone, nothing. The only instructions I have been able to find on connecting the phone to this new box is to plug the phone in, which I did but it doesn't work.  any ideas on what the issue could be?

The Telephone portion has to be activated on the device in addition to internet.

 

Call them and ask them to activate it.
