Phone line

Do I need to have a physical phone line run from the pole to the house do get xfinity voice? Im thinking of getting it but I had the phone line taken down and disconnected from the outside of the house years ago.

Re: Phone line

The eMTA phone adapter for Comcast Digtal Voice will replace your existing Comcast High Speed cable modem and is fed by the coax cable coming into your home which feeds your TV outlets and cable modem.

The L1/L2 jack on the eMTA connects to your phone(s) in the house, or is connected to your existing inside wiring to supply dial tone at the phone outlets in the home.

It does not need a "telco" phone drop.
