Phone greeting...

Phone greeting...

I have a deskop phone and I want to delete the greeting that was on my old phone that apparantly is out there in comcast somewhere. I will not be checking messages from my phone, getting them via the base of the phone so...

I have no 'main menu' to press #4 (personal options)

I have no place to press #3 (greetings)

I have no place to press #4 (personal greetings)

I have no place to press #3 (personal greeting)

I have no place to press # (return to main menu)

Can the message that is "out there" be deleted and can I use the 'local' greeting that is new and on my phone?

I don't want/need comcast to manage my greetings or my phone messages!

Why does this need to be so difficult???

To cancel the VM feature you will need to call into Comcast @ 1-800-266-2278 or 1-800-934-6489 and request that the feature be turned off in its entirety.  Once this is done, you can manage your greeting and retrieve the voicvemails left on your base phone.
