Phone connection

When my phone rings, I delay answering until I see who it is on the caller i.d. When I answer it, I have to say "hello" like 2-3 times before the person on the other end hears me. It's getting really annoying. It is with all calls, not just computer-generated calls (as I know this quite often happens with those calls). Is this an equipment problem or a Comcast problem?

Have you tried unplugging the eMTA and plugging it back in. It is the box that has a Coax cable connected to it, along with your telephone connection. Your telephone may or may not be directly plugged into it, depending on where it was located by the tech.

What is the eMTA? Is that the modem?
