Phone calls from disconnected numbers

Phone calls from disconnected numbers

I've been getting phone calls from disconnected numbers!  I usually check caller ID and don't pick up if I don't recognize number. Voice Mail comes on but no one leaves a message. So I started picking up ALL calls. As suspected, many were telemarketers, but several were just dead air. One particular number has called us every day for a week now; I called back and it's been "disconnected or no longer in service".  What's going on?

The number is being "spoofed"....
