Phone caller ID suddenly stopped working

Our phone caller ID suddenly stopped working last week. I've spent 1-1/2 hours trying to resolve on chat line. Unplug phone?  Check. Plug back in? Check. Comcast will give "highest priority" to us. How frustrating. Has anyone else encountered this problem recently and has anyone been able to fix it? Thanks

 BRAND NEW PHONES ARE COMLETELY SCREWED UP. NO CALLS OUT OR IN, BUT WHEN THE MESSAGE COMES ON THE TV SCREEN THERE'S A CALL, I CAN PRESS TALK AND ANSWER THE CALL !?! SO, JUST SIT IN FRONT OF THE TV ALL DAY EVERYDAY IN ORDER TO RECEIVE CALLS. WHAT A HOT MESS. AND I AM SICK OF TALKING TO PEOPLE I CANNOT UNDERSTAND.

     We have the same problem. Any time you call for error problems this is the first thing you are asked too do. Unplug the box wait for 60 seconds or longer and reboot. This doesn't work all the time. Finally had a technician come to our home. After he left from doing nothing he couldn't repair either. Wasted trip and service call, glad we have insurance for service calls.
