Other party can not hear me, but I can hear them

Other party can not hear me, but I can hear them

During calls, the other party can not hear me talking for 5-20 seconds, although I can always hear them fine.

 

And on occasion, no dialtone on either line until I reset the Comcast digital voice box.

 

 

Also experiencing Comcast internet dropping and very slow speeds at times.

 

Cable modem and Digital  Voice boxes are each home run from the demarc box on the side of the house.

 

Thoughts? I am really tired of continuing to report these problems with no resolution.

The Comcast Cares Team has been notified and will contact the right local people to look into your issue.

Thanks. Look forward to hearing from them hopefully soon.

 

It is now dropping me in the middle of calls and then doesn't provide dial tone for awhile.

Have you had a tech out to investigate? Based on what I'm seeing, we should defiintely have someone visit you. Please email me a good time to have someone out. Please also be sure to share a link to this thread.

Detreone,

Still have not heard from anyone and it has now been three days. I really need to get this resolved quickly. Will the technician be coming out today?

 

Is it better for me to use another support group at Comcast?

The technician was awesome. Replaced 1) some old wiring and 2) a very outdated cable modem. He was able to identify a significant network problem causing dropped data packets and timeouts, which is still an issue. He has referred the remaining problem to the network engineers for resolution.

 

After having inexperienced contractors come out for service calls in the past, it was great to have someone who really knew what he was doing, was able to use all the various tools/aids available to isolate the issues, and was extremely professional.

 

Once the network problem is resolved (over the next few days?) I will be very happy.
